The sisters Katrine and Karoline are living two opposite lives, even though they were close as children. Karoline is unable to hold a steady job and lives from paycheck to paycheck with her unemployed DJ boyfriend, Ronny. The high-powered Katrine on the other hand, has everything in her relationship with the successful contractor Markus. That is everything - except children. 
Katrine is struggling with her infertility, and as Karoline gets pregnant, Katrine comes up with a plan that can solve everyone’s problems. Katrine will give Karoline enough money to pay off her debt and get a fresh start. In exchange, Katrine will adopt the baby. They both agree on what seems like the perfect plan, however, they soon discover that many things can change in 9 months.
