TrustNordisk has sold the upcoming dramedy A MAN CALLED OVE to Germany (Concorde Filmverleih) and Benelux (September Film Distribution) prior to AFM.
Both deals were negotiated by Susan Wendt, Head of Sales at TrustNordisk.
Based on the bestselling book by Fredrik Backman, A MAN CALLED OVE tells a heartfelt, poetic and humorous story about a grumpy old man who has given up on everyone including himself. But his life and negative approach to the world is put to the test when a new family moves in next door.
The book has been a huge hit since it was released in Germany in August this year and is currently still to be found on the German bestseller list.
“We are so proud of representing this warm and quirky dramedy. Since we announced presales a couple of weeks ago, the interest from distributors have been enormous and with the already closed deals for Germany and Benelux, we have high expectations for its international potential and look forward to presenting this film as part of our presales-slate at the upcoming AFM”, says Rikke Ennis, CEO at TrustNordisk.
A MAN CALLED OVE is produced by Annica Bellander for Tre Vänner in co-operation with Film i Väst, SVT, Nordisk Film with support from The Swedish Film Institute and Nordsvensk Filmunderhållning. More investors will follow shortly.
Domestic release is currently set for December 2015.
