As Swedish director Lukas Moodysson is preparing his new feature
film VI ÄR BÄST! (English title TBA), TrustNordisk has picked up
international sales rights on the title for which shooting is to begin later
this year.
“My goal is to make a happy film full
of hope and vitality”, Lukas Moodysson states about his new project.
The story takes place in Stockholm 1982. A film about Bobo,
Klara and Hedvig. Three 12-13-year old girls who roam the streets. Who are
brave and tough and strong and weak and confused and weird. Who have to take
care of themselves way too early. Who heat fish fingers in the toaster when
mom is at the pub. Who start a punk band without any instruments, even though
everybody says that punk is dead.
A film about being
different and about a friendship more important than anything else.
Written and directed by Lukas Moodysson, the film is
based on the graphic novel “NEVER GOODNIGHT” by Coco
Moodysson.
Lukas Moodysson has previously directed FUCKING
ÅMÅL aka SHOW ME LOVE (1998), TOGETHER (2000), LILYA 4-EVER (2002) and
MAMMOTH (2009).
Shooting is set to begin during fall 2012
and will take place at Film i Väst and on location in Stockholm. Domestic
release is set for 2013 by Svensk Filmindustri and international sales is
handled by TrustNordisk.
