Buyers flock to
TrustNordisk for RAGNAROK. After screening the film at American Film Market,
TrustNordisk has closed a number of deals on the popular Norwegian
action/adventure.
TrustNordisk
has now closed deals on the film for China (Melting Culture Ltd.), Indonesia
(Pratama Film), Spain (Artwood), Brazil (Mares Filmes LTDA) and Thailand (IPA).
Previously
announced deals include: USA (Magnolia Pictures), Turkey and Cyprus
(Euromedia), Japan (Interfilm), Taiwan (Supervision Trading) and Eastern Europe
(A Company).
RAGNAROK
received international acclaim at its World Premiere at Fantastic Fest in
Austin with international outlets comparing the style to Spielberg´s early
films and highlighting it as clever entertainment with a Norwegian twist.
Local Norwegian
critics have also embraced the film and described it as “A Norwegian Indiana Jones” (BT)
and “A victory for Norwegian
Film” (VG).
RAGNAROK, which
was released locally on October 4th, is still going strong at the local box
office and is currently the most popular film in the Norwegian cinemas of 2013.
RAGNAROK stars
Pål Sverre Hagen (KON-TIKI, 2012) as an archeologist obsessed with the Oseberg
Viking ship. Convinced that the ship contains the answer to the mystery of
Ragnarok, the end of days in Norse mythology he mounts an expedition to “No
Man´s Land” between Norway and Russia, which holds a secret more terrifying
than he could possibly imagine.

Mikkel Sandemose (COLD PREY - THE BEGINNING, 2010) RAGNAROK is produced by
Martin Sundland and Are Heidenstrøm for Fantefilm Fiksjon in co-production with
Film i Väst, H. Aschehoug & Co, Filmkraft Invest, Ghost VFX and Tre Vänner
with support from The Norwegian Film Institute, Nordic Film & TV Fund, Norwegian
Broadcasting Corporation, The Swedish Film Institute, the MEDIA programme of
the European Union and i2i Audiovisual.
