After screening a 3-minute promo of Mads Matthiesen´s upcoming film THE MODEL at the European Film Market in Berlin, TrustNordisk has closed a slate of deals on the film. THE MODEL has been sold to France (AB Groupe), Poland (Kino Swiat), Korea (Scene & Sound), Bulgaria (Pro Films) and Middle East (Gulf Film).
Starring British actor Ed Skrein (TRANSPORTER LEGACY, 2015) and fashion model and feature film debutant Maria Palm, THE MODEL tells the story of emerging fashion model Emma who struggles to enter the Parisian fashion scene and develops a dangerous obsession for male fashion photographer Shane White.
THE MODEL is Mads Matthiesen´s second feature film following the award-winning drama TEDDY BEAR for which he received a number of international awards including the Best Director - World Dramatic Arts Award at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012.
THE MODEL is produced by Jonas Bagger for Zentropa Entertainments10 ApS with executive producers Louise Vesth and Marie Gade Denessen. Co-produced by Ole Wendorff-Østergaard for Sputnik Film, Madeleine Ekman for Zentropa International Sweden and in co-production with Film i Väst and Zentropa International Poland. Supported by Danish Film Institute, TV2 Denmark and Polish Film Institute. Developed with the support from MEDIA Programme of the European Union.
