US distributor Music Box Films has picked up all rights to Jan Troell's bio-epic THE LAST SENTENCE. Winning for Best Director at the World Film Festival in Montreal where the film world premiered, THE LAST SENTENCE is currently being shown at Busan International Film Festival.
"We've long admired Jan Troell's work and its a special privilege to release his 25th film. THE LAST SENTENCE struck us as nothing short of a masterpiece by a filmmaker working at the top of his form," said Music Box Managing Director Edward Arentz.

THE LAST SENTENCE, which was previously know under the working title TRUTH & CONSEQUENCE, tells the story about one of the leading journalists in Sweden in the 20th century, Torgny Segerstedt, who fought against Hitler and the Nazi regime until his death in 1945. The film stars two of Scandinavia´s finest acting talents; Jesper Christensen and Pernilla August and is produced by Francy Suntinger for Filmlance with the support of Swedish Film Institute. Nordisk Film is distributing domestically with a local release date set on 7 December this year.
