THE KEEPER OF LOST CAUSES now seen by 500,000 in Denmark

The success

continues for Scandinavian thriller THE KEEPER OF LOST CAUSES which has now

been seen by more than 500,000 Danes in the cinemas.

 

 

 

THE KEEPER OF

LOST CAUSES, which was released on October 3rd, is with the current numbers

steadily heading for the status as the most popular film of all theatrical

releases in the Danish cinemas in 2013. The film is also on track to become

among the best performing local Danish titles over the last decade, a list

currently topped by the comedy KLOWN (2010) also by director Mikkel Nørgaard

and Zentropa-producer Louise Vesth.

 

 

 

World

premiering at Locarno Film Festival in August to excellent reviews, THE KEEPER

OF LOST CAUSES is the first film in the upcoming franchise based on Jussi

Adler-Olsen´s bestselling book series about Department Q. So far TrustNordisk

has sold THE KEEPER OF LOST CAUSES to more than 35 countries including key

territories such as Germany, Benelux, Switzerland, Australia and China.

 

 

 

The second

installment THE ABSENT ONE, which will also be directed by Nørgaard, is

currently shooting and set for release in autumn 2014.

 

 

 

With screenplay

by Nikolaj Arcel who wrote and directed A ROYAL AFFAIR (2012) and who also

wrote the script for THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO (2009) and starring

Nikolaj Lie Kaas (ANGELS & DEMONS, 2009) and Fares Fares (SAFE HOUSE, 2012

and ZERO DARK THIRTY, 2013) THE KEEPER OF LOST CAUSES tells the story of chief

detective Carl Mørck and his assistant Assad who become involved in a

five-year-old case concerning the mystery of politician Merete Lynggaard´s

disappearance - a journey that takes them deep into the undercurrent of abuse

and malice that lurks beneath the polished surface of Scandinavia.

LOST CAUSES is produced by the Zentropa Group in cooperation with TV2 Denmark,

ZDF German Television Network, ZDF Enterprises, TV2 Norway and in co-production

with Film i Väst. With support from the Danish Film Institute, Eurimages,
