THE HUNT and HEADHUNTERS nominated for BAFTA

Earlier today the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) announced the nominees for the 2013 BAFTA awards.

Nominated for the BAFTA awards in the “Film not in the English language category” are Thomas Vinterberg´s Cannes Competition title THE HUNT is nominated along with the Norwegian thriller HEADHUNTERS directed by Morten Tyldum and based on the novel of the same name by bestselling author Jo Nesbø.

The two titles will compete against Michael Haneke´s Amour, Jacques Audiard´s Rust and Bone and Eric Toledano´s Intouchables.

THE HUNT has received much acclaim since its World Premiere at last year´s Cannes International Film Festival continuing its festival streak at prestigious Autumn festivals. Mads Mikkelsen took home the award for Best Actor in Cannes and in December, screenwriters Thomas Vinterberg and Tobias Lindholm received the European Film Award for Best European Screenwriter.

THE HUNT is produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Morten Kaufmann for Zentropa in co-production with Film i Väst and Zentropa International Sweden with support from The Danish Film Institute, Danish Broadcasting Corporation, Eurimages, Nordic Film & TV Fund, The Swedish Film Institute, Swedish Television and the MEDIA programme of the European Union.

The Norwegian thriller HEADHUNTERS has had great success both nationally and internationally since its market premiere in Cannes in 2011. Telling the story about a headhunter who lives a life as an art thief and starring Aksel Hennie and GAME OF THRONES' Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, HEADHUNTERS has become the most successful Norwegian title in history, driving local box office figures to record heights and internationally HEADHUNTERS rose to the top of the international box office charts and has become the highest grossing foreign language release of 2012 in the UK.
 HEADHUNTERS is produced by Marianne Gray from Swedish production company Yellow Bird and Asle Vatn from Norwegian production company Friland Film in collaboration with Nordisk Film.


The winners will be announced at the annual BAFTA awards will take place on Sunday February 10th 2013.
