Highly anticipated action-adventure ESCAPE has unleashed new footage and artwork - see the teaser, teaser-poster and new still-material right HERE
Currently in post-production, ESCAPE takes us back to the year 1363 when the plague torn apart a country. Half the population has died and people are trying to escape death and misery, searching for a better life elsewhere. But it´s difficult to find places to escape to and in the mountains where lawless gangs rule human life isn´t much worth.
Even before the film was announced as a presales title, Koch Media purchased the rights for all German speaking territories with wording that they ”are convinced that the medieval setting as well as the action genre has high commercial potential and will attract an extensive audience." UK distributor Momentum snatched the rights along with Middle East´s Gulf Film and Film Europe (Slovakia and Czech Republic) after the screening of a three-minute long promo during Berlinale´s EFM. Spain's Aurum Producciones has also sercured theatrical distribution rights.
A Work-in-Progress version of ESCAPE will premiere exclusively for buyers only at the market in Cannes.
ESCAPE has three tough women in the leads: Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Isabel Christine Andreasen and Milla Olin.
Director is Roar Uthaug and producers are Martin Sundland and Are Heidenstrøm from Norwegian production company Fantefilm Fiksjon AS. Fantefilm Fiksjon is behind the popular horror-thriller trilogy COLD PREY, sold to over 30 countries, and the Tarantino´sk action-comedy JACKPOT, which was snatched by UK (Metrodome) and Germany (NFP) during this year´s EFM and which just premiered internationally at Tribeca Film Festival with roaring reviews.
ESCAPE is distributed domestically by Nordisk Film and premieres in Norway September 28th 2012.
