Susanne Bier to direct A SECOND CHANCE – Nikolaj Coster-Waldau cast in leading role

30-10-2013

Academy Award®-winning director Susanne Bier returns to Denmark to direct A SECOND CHANCE. TrustNordisk will start presales on the film at the upcoming AFM in Los Angeles, which kicks off November 6th.

Susanne Bier continues the long and fruitful collaboration with script writer Anders Thomas Jensen which started out more than a decade ago on OPEN HEARTS (2002), which has since then culminated in winning the Academy Award ® for Best Foreign Language Film for IN A BETTER WORLD in 2011.

How far are decent human beings willing to go, when tragedy blurs the line between just and unjust? With A SECOND CHANCE, Susanne Bier and Anders Thomas Jensen have crafted another startling yet moving drama, about how easily we lose our grasp on justice, when we face the unthinkable and life as we know it hangs by a thread.

The leading role will be played by Danish actor and international star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who has appeared in a large number of US-films such as Ridley Scotts BLACK HAWK DOWN (2001) and KINGDOM of HEAVEN (2005) and more recently OBLIVION and MAMA (both 2013).  Coster-Waldau´s big international breakthrough came when he was cast as Jaime Lannister in HBO´s hit-series GAME OF THRONES (2011-2013).

A SECOND CHANCE will be his first leading role in a Danish film in more than a decade.

More cast will be announced shortly.
