EXCLUSIVE: TrustNordisk has boarded international sales rights on Swedish sci-fi comedy-drama Arne Goes To Space.
TrustNordisk will launch the title at this month’s Cannes Marché du Film (May 12-20).
Arne Goes To Space is the debut feature of Swedish filmmaker Lars Vega. Set in a quiet northern community in Sweden, it follows two brothers still living in their parents’ home, who are forced to reconsider where they are in life when an alien arrives.
Rolf Lassgard and Lennart Jahkel lead the cast, with The Chronicles Of Narnia and The Lord Of The Rings trilogy actor Kiran Shah playing the alien Roland.
The film is written by Vega and Theodor Osterbergi, and produced by Anette Brantin for Nexiko, with support from the Swedish Film Institute, SVT, Filmpool Nord, and NonStop Entertainment.
NonStop will distribute the film in the Nordics, as Screen reported last year.
“Who wouldn’t fall in love with a 3-foot-tall alien named Roland?” said TrustNordisk managing director Susan Wendt. “I can’t wait to share the first footage of Lars Vega’s feature debut in Cannes and am more than confident that this heartwarming and quirky sci-fi dramedy will find its fans worldwide both within festivals and buyers.”
