Toronto International Film Festival 2024 has announced its official selection for the Discovery section, which includes THE QUIET ONES, directed by Frederik Louis Hviid and featuring Gustav Giese, Amanda Collin and Reda Kateb. The festival will run from September 5-15, 2024. Zentropa has released a teaser artwork and first look scene.
Copenhagen, 24 July 2024 – We are excited to announce that THE QUIET ONES has been officially selected for the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival. The Zentropa-produced action drama, directed by Frederik Louis Hviid, will have its world premiere in the festival's Discovery section. Drawing inspiration from true events — the largest heist in Danish history — the film follows a group of men as they plan an audacious heist, aiming to accomplish what appears to be an impossible feat. Alongside this announcement, Zentropa has released a teaser artwork and scene, offering a glimpse into the film's enthralling narrative.
Frederik Louis Hviid, known for co-directing the acclaimed action film SHORTA (2020), which was Denmark's shortlisted entry for the 2021 Oscars and received international recognition at festivals including Venice, Zürich, and Glasgow and for directing three episodes of the Prix Italia-winning series PRISONER (2023), has expressed his excitement about the selection. THE QUIET ONES marks his solo directorial debut.

THE QUIET ONES features a talented and exciting cast including Danish actors Gustav Giese (PRISONER, 2023; RIDERS OF JUSTICE, 2020), and Amanda Collin (THE PROMISED LAND, 2023; RAISED BY WOLVES 2020-2022) alongside internationally recognized French actor Reda Kateb (THE KING OF ALGIERS, 2023; ZERO DARK THIRTY, 2012; A PROPHET 2009).

Inspired by true events, THE QUIET ONES is scripted by Anders Frithiof August (THE FORTUNATE MAN, 2018; THE MARCO EFFECT, 2021) and produced by Kasper Dissing for Zentropa (ANOTHER ROUND, 2020). Co-producers include Lizette Jonjic (ANOTHER ROUND, 2020; THE PROMISED LAND, 2023) and Jean-Christophe Reymond, who was behind the Cannes Palme d'Or-winner TITANE (2021).
