The deals come in the wake of the film's world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, where the tense and gripping drama received rave reviews and an enthusiastic response from both critics and audiences. The thriller, which explores how far parents are willing to go to protect their children, has generated significant interest across the market and continues to build strong international momentum.
Directed by Amalie Næsby Fick and written by Sara Isabella Jønsson (COPENHAGEN COWBOY, UNRULY) and Nikolaj Arcel (THE PROMISED LAND, A ROYAL AFFAIR), the film is produced by Louise Vesth for Zentropa. The cast is led by Sidse Babett Knudsen (BORGEN, WESTWORLD, INFERNO), Sofie Gråbøl (THE LAST VIKING, THE KILLING), and Asta Kamma August (THE KINGDOM, FAMILIES LIKE OURS).
Synopsis:
A quiet suburban community is shaken when a teenage boy accuses two of his peers of sexual assault. As the town reels from the horrifying allegations, successful real estate agent Anne Sofie discovers that her own son may be more involved than she ever imagined. Determined to protect him and the family’s reputation, she makes a choice that sets her on a collision course with the other boys’ mothers, Sarah and Ulrikke. As accusations against her son begin to amass, the pressure mounts. In her eagerness to shield her family, her relationships fracture and her moral compass wavers.
