We are delighted to confirm that TrustNordisk has boarded international sales rights of the ensemble drama A MATTER OF TRUST, recently selected for ‘International Narrative Competition’ at Tribeca Film Festival 2022.
TrustNordisk has boarded the new drama A MATTER OF TRUST, which will world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival 2022 (8-19 June) and have the chance to win within the categories ‘Best Narrative Feature’, ‘Best Screenplay’, ‘Best Cinematography’ and ‘Best Performance’.
The feature is directed by talented Danish director and writer Annette K. Olesen, who made her feature debut with MINOR MISHAPS, which won the Blue Angel at Berlin International Film Festival in 2002. In addition, Annette K. Olesen has directed IN YOUR HANDS (2004), LITTLE SOLDIER (2008), and episodes of the Emmy Award-nominated and BAFTA Award-winning drama series BORGEN (2010). In addition, she conceptualised the Series Mania-winning HBO-series KAMIKAZE (2021).
A MATTER OF TRUST features internationally acknowledged Berlin Silver Bear-winning Danish actress Trine Dyrholm (QUEEN OF HEARTS, 2019; THE COMMUNE, 2016), EFP Shooting Star winner Jakob Cedergreen (THE GUILTY, 2018; SUBMARINO, 2010), Morten Hee Andersen (MARGRETE – QUEEN OF THE NORTH, 2021; RIDE UPON THE STORM, 2017-18) and new talents Sofie Juul Blinkenberg, Ellen Rovsing Knudsen and Emil Aron Dorph.
Synopsis:
On a perfectly ordinary late-summer day, the lives of five unrelated people are turned upside down. A husband, a doctor, a wife, a student, and a young daughter are unsuspectingly put on a collision course with each their fateful crossroads. In the search of love, identity, and moral gauge they all risk the most precious aspect of life: Trust. But trust is vulnerable, and the consequences will be irreversible, forbidden and embarrassingly amusing.
The film is based on five short stories by Carsten Jensen, Martin Kongstad, Caroline Albertine Minor, Niels Henning Krag Jensby and Kamilla Hega Holst, respectively, adapted for screen by Maren Louise Käehne and Annette K. Olesen.
A MATTER OF TRUST is produced by Nimbus Film, with support from and in collaboration with Danish Film Institute represented by film consultant Mikkel Munch-Fals & Silje Riise Næss, West Danish Film Fund by Steen Risom, Ronnie Fridthjof & Mette Elmgaard, DR, The Ministry of industries and innovation of Iceland. Local release expected for autumn 2022.
With the recent acquisition, TrustNordisk will attend Tribeca with two features selected for the festival: A MATTER OF TRUST and Gabriel Bier Gislason’s ATTACHMENT, which will world premiere in the Midnight section. Managing Director of TrustNordisk, Susan Wendt, will attend the festival.
