PRESS RELEASE: STUDIOCANAL AQUIRES THE UK RIGHTS FOR ICELANDIC HORROR FILM, I REMEMBER YOU

TrustNordisk is thrilled to announce that STUDIOCANAL has picked up the UK rights for Oskar Thór Axelsson´s I REMEMBER YOU after a promo screening at AFM.

“I am sure STUDIOCANAL is the perfect partner to give the UK audience a creepy ride that they will never forget” says Susan Wendt, Head of Sales at TrustNordisk.

Other sales negotiated at AFM include Telemünchen (in German speaking territorries), Euromedia (in Turkey) and Vertigo (in Hungary).

I REMEMBER YOU is Oskar Thór Axelsson second feature film, his debut feature, crime thriller BLACK´S GAME (2013) was a huge international success which received praise both from critics and in the festival circuit. 

The film stars Thor Kristjansson (REYKJAVIK WHALE WATCHING MASSACRE, 2009; BLACK´S GAME, 2012; DRACULA UNTOLD, 2014), Ãgústa Eva Erlendsdóttir (CITY STATE, 2011; BRAVE MEN´S BLOOD, 2014) and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson (BLACK'S GAME, 2012; NOAH, 2014; THE LAST KNGDOM, 2015; GAME OF THRONES, 2016), among others.

An older lady hangs herself inside a church in the remote Westfjords of Iceland. Via her suicide letter the new psychiatrist in town finds out that she was obsessed with the disappearance of his 8-year-old son, who vanished without a trace three years earlier. Across the bay to the north in an abandoned village, three city dwellers are restoring a house, strange things start happening and they realize the house is haunted. The two stories slowly intervene and it turns out that a child named Bernodus who vanished under mysterious circumstances some 60 years earlier is the connecting link.

I REMEMBER YOU is produced by Joni Sighvatsson, Thor Sigurjonsson, Skuli Malmquist and Chris Briggs for Zik Zak Filmworks in co-production with Ape & Björn Norway (Ruben Thirkildsen) and Maze Pictures in Germany. With support from the Icelandic Film Centre and the Norwegian Film Institute.

I REMEMBER YOU is in production and currently scheduled for release in Q2 2017.
