We are very glad to announce that Rolf Lassgård has been nominated for a European Film Award for his performance as Ove in Hannes Holm´s A MAN CALLED OVE.
Besides the nomination for Rolf Lassgård, A MAN CALLED OVE was also nominated for Best European Comedy by European Film Awards.
In December 2015 A MAN CALLED OVE celebrated a record-breaking opening in Sweden with over 1.7 million admissions, making it the 5th bestselling local film in Sweden to date. In January 2016 the film took home 3 Gulbagge awards, including the Best Actor Award for Rolf Lassgård and finally in September, the film was selected as Sweden´s official Academy Award® entry for Best Foreign Language Film 2017.
In September, Music Box Films released the film in the U.S. to great reviews and it is now the top 2016 foreign language, arthouse film in the U.S.
So far the boxoffice numbers are at over 1.5 million dollars and still counting.

The film is based on the bestselling book by Fredrik Backman, which has been published in more than 30 countries worldwide and tells a heartfelt, poetic and humorous story about a grumpy old man who has given up on everyone including himself. But his life and negative approach to the world is put to the test when a new family moves in next door.
