We are happy and excited to announce that the black comedy RIDERS OF JUSTICE by talented Danish director Anders Thomas Jensen, produced by Zentropa, has been sold to a range of new territories, including France.
Following a busy online AFM and a successful advanced local release in November, we are happy to announce new sales on RIDERS OF JUSTICE.
The film has now been acquired by France (SND – Groupe M6) as well as a range of other territories, including Switzerland (Ascot Elite), Australia and New Zealand (Rialto), Japan (Klockworx) and Brazil (Synapse).
In addition, sales to the US (Magnet Releasing, a genre arm of Magnolia Pictures) and the UK (Vertigo Releasing) were recently announced, marking the strong interest in the film.
The film had its local release in Denmark on 19 November 2020 and had an overwhelming reception among the press and audience. 150,000 admissions, including pre-screenings, were sold on the opening weekend, making it this year’s greatest opening weekend in Danish cinema as well as the greatest opening of a Danish film since CHECKERED NINJA (2018). With admissions having reached 407,785 combined with impressive 5 and 6 star ratings from local press, the journey of RIDERS OF JUSTICE has indeed been a successful one.

Synopsis:
The deployed military man Markus has to go home to his teenage daughter, Mathilde, when his wife dies in a tragic train accident. It seems to be plain bad luck – until the mathematics geek Otto shows up with his two eccentric colleagues, Lennart and Emmenthaler. Otto was also a passenger on the wrecked train. He is convinced someone must have been behind it. As the clues piles up, it becomes clear to Markus, it might have been a carefully orchestrated assassination, which his wife ended up being a random casualty of.
