It is with great pride and joy that TrustNordisk can announce that we have 5 titles selected for the highly commended BFI London Film Festival. Congratulations to THE GUILTY, U - JULY 22, THE QUAKE, THAT TIME OF YEAR and ALONE IN SPACE!
THE GUILTY (UK distributor: Signature Entertainment)
As the winner of multiple awards, amongst others the Audience Award at this year´s Sundance Film Festival, and impressive ticket sales both domestically and internationally, THE GUILTY has already enjoyed great success. On top of that, it was recently announced that the film is on the Danish Oscar-shortlist. Now the film has been selected for the THRILL section at London Film Festival and can add yet another reverence to its resume. The film was released locally on June 14th 2018.
U - JULY 22 (UK distributor: Modern Films)
Following a successful international release in Main Competition at Berlin International Film Festival, U - JULY 22 by internationally acclaimed director Erik Poppe has been widely celebrated for its minimalistic style and sensitive way of handling the horrific event that took place on Utøya on July 22nd 2011. An event that is still fresh in many people´s memories. U - JULY 22 will be a part of the DEBATE section. The film was released locally on March 9th 2018.
THE QUAKE has been selected for the THRILL section at this year´s festival. It is the sequel to the worldwide hit THE WAVE and the film marks a return to the disaster genre for Fantefilm and award winning cinematographer and director John Andreas Andersen. Like its prequel, it stars Kristoffer Joner, who is internationally known for MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT (2018) and THE REVENANT (2015), in the leading role. Local release August 31st 2018.
This quirky ensemble dramedy by internationally acclaimed actress and director Paprika Steen is currently receiving quite the amount of festival buzz. Earlier this month we could announce that THAT TIME OF YEAR was selected for the Contemporary World Cinema section at Toronto International Film Festival and subsequently it was announced that the film will compete in the Audentia Award programme at the festival. Now it has also been selected for the LAUGH section at London Film Festival. Local release November 18th 2018.
ALONE IN SPACE is director Ted Kjellsson´s feature film debut, but he has revealed that the film will be part of a trilogy, and that the sequel with the working title THE KIDS FROM SPACE, which Kjellsson describes as “Mad Max for kids,” is already in development. Playwright, director and actor Henrik Ståhl (MONICA Z, 2013) has written the play VIAL upon which ALONE IN SPACE is based, and he has also co-written the script for the film with Kjellsson. ALONE IN SPACE will participate in the FAMILY section. Local release September 21st 2018.
