TRUSTNORDISK BOARDS NORWEGIAN BOXING DRAMA TEAM HAVNAA (WORKING TITLE), BASED ON THE INCREDIBLE STORY OF THE HAVNAA BROTHERS
Copenhagen, DK 31 January 2024 – We are proud to announce that TrustNordisk has secured international sales rights for the captivating boxing drama TEAM HAVNAA (working title). Drawing inspiration from the incredible story of the Havnaa brothers, the film tells a gripping story of two brothers and their enthralling boxing careers, as respectively manager and boxer, it unfolds from the pinnacle of world championship glory to the involvement of the largest robbery in Norwegian history.
The intriguing drama is directed by the Karlovy Vary- winning director and screenwriter Bård Breien (THE ART OF NEGATIVE THINKING, 2006), and is produced by Synnøve Hørsdal (THE ASH LAD, 2017) for Maipo Film. The film features a strong cast, starring established Norwegian actor Tobias Santelmann (KONTIKI, 2012; THE ARCTIC CONVOY, 2025) alongside upcoming talent Odin Vaage (ROD KNOCK, 2020-22).

Synopsis:
TEAM HAVNAA (working title) is based on the remarkable - and true - story about two brothers from rural Norway who brazenly take on the world. In very various ways. We follow their endeavors to make the youngest of them reach the very top of professional boxing, becoming Norway´s first world champion. A milestone for the history books. But for the older brother it doesn’t stop there. The fire within keeps raging. Uncontrolled. He ends up making one more deposit to the history books when he takes part in the biggest bank heist in Norwegian history.
TEAM HAVNAA (working title) is directed by and written by Bård Breien, with Eske Troelstrup and Ravn Lanessk. The film is produced Synnøve Hørsdal for Maipo Film with funding from FilmKollectiv, PubRes the Norwegian Film Institute. co-producers Parvel Bercik and Silvie Michajlova.
