TrustNordisk will be supervising sales outside the Nordic region, handled by Scanbox, and German speaking territories, under Splendid Film’s ægis.
The mega-Nordic project inspired by the ‘Stockholm bloodbath’ historical events of 1520 when Swedish nobles were executed by the Danish King Christian II, is brought to the screens by writers Erlend Loe and Nora Landsrød.
Internationally acclaimed Håfström (Evil, Bloodline) is directing a stellar international cast including Claes Bang, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Emily Beecham, Alba August, Ulrich Thomsen, Jakob Oftebro, and Kate Ashfield.
The film is produced by Helena Danielsson for Viaplay Studios in co-production with Nordisk Film and support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond. The theatrical release in Finland, Norway and Sweden is slated for January 19, 2024.
TrustNordisk will present the script and a promo exclusively to buyers at the upcoming American Film Market in Los Angeles (October 312-November 5).
