Christian Jungersens hugely popular novel YOU DISAPPEAR is to be adapted for the big screen by director Peter Schønau Fog with Trine Dyrholm, Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Swedish international star Michael Nyqvist in the leading roles.
YOU DISAPPEAR is the first Christian Jungersen book to be adapted for the screen. The book was a huge success domestically on its release in 2012 and spent more than a year on the bestseller list. The book has also attracted a large international crowd and has been sold to numerous territories including USA, Germany, France, The Netherlands and Norway.
Shooting start is set for September 28th 2015 on several locations in Mallorca, Denmark and Sweden.
YOU DISAPPEAR will be directed by acclaimed Danish director Peter Schønau Fog (THE ART OF CRYING, 2007) with a dream cast consisting of award winning actors Trine Dyrholm (A ROYAL AFFAIR, 2012, LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED, 2012, THE CELEBRATION, 1998), Nikolaj Lie Kaas (THE ABSENT ONE, 2014, THE KEEPER OF LOST CAUSES, 2013, ANGELS AND DEAMONS, 2009) and international Swedish star Michael Nyqvist (THE MILLENIUM TRILOGY, 2009).
Respected schoolteacher Frederik (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) is arrested and charged with fraud for millions. It appears Frederik has had a brain tumor for the last three years, which has created a change to his personality. His wife Mia (Trine Dyrholm), assisted by solicitor Bernard (Michael Nyqvist) will have to muster all her strength to get him acquitted and try to save her family.
YOU DISAPPEAR is a disturbing, exciting and touching journey into the complex structures of the brain. Who are we? Do we have a free will or is every action a result of the impulses of the brain? YOU DISAPPEAR depicts the fight of a family to keep together under extreme duress - and tells a story of the power of the brain and the despair of the will.

YOU DISAPPEAR is produced by Louise Vesth for Zentropa with support from the Danish Film Institute, TV2 Denmark, TV4 Sweden, Den Vestdanske Filmpulje, Film Väst, the Swedish Film Institute and Nordisk Film.
