Award-winning director Hans Petter Moland´s IN ORDER OF DISAPPEARANCE has been selected for Official Competition at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival.
Moland returns to Berlin International Film Festival with an action-comedy about Nils (Stellan Skarsgård) who drives a snow blower and has a carefree life in snow covered Norway, until his son´s death suddenly puts him in the middle of a drug war between the Norwegian mafia and Serbian criminals.
Other cast members include Bruno Ganz (DOWNFALL, 2004), Pål Sverre Hagen (KON-TIKI, 2012), Birgitte Hjort Sørensen (BORGEN 2010-2013), Kristoffer Hivju (GAME OF THRONES, 2013) and one of this year´s Berlin Shooting Stars Jakob Oftebro (KON-TIKI).
IN ORDER OF DISAPPEARANCE marks Moland´s third time in Competition at Berlin International Film Festival. In 2004, his film THE BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY was selected for Official Competition, and in 2010 he attended the Berlin International Film Festival with A SOMEWHAT GENTLE MAN in Competition.
TrustNordisk started presales on the film last year and has so far sold IN ORDER OF DISAPPEARANCE to territories such as Germany, Austria, UK, South Korea and Czech Republic to name a few.
IN ORDER OF DISAPPEARANCE is produced by Finn Gjerdrum and Stein B. Kvae from Norwegian production company Paradox and supported by the Norwegian Film Institute, the Swedish Film Institute, the Danish Film Institute, Nordisk Film & TV Fond, Eurimages, Film3 and Film i Väst.
Domestic release is set for February 21st 2014 through Nordisk Film Distribution.
