Even before TrustNordisk has launched the official presales of NYMPHOMANIAC, Russian distributor Central Partnership has picked up the rights of Trier´s new project. TrustNordisk reports great interest in NYMPHOMANIAC and expects to have a script available early next year.
Currently in Toronto with Trier´s latest project MELANCHOLIA, TrustNordisk look forward to be following the shooting of the upcoming NYMPHOMANIAC, which is expected to start summer 2012. MELANCHOLIA premiered in Competition in Cannes earlier this year, winning a prize for Best Actress due to the performance of Kirsten Dunst and, more unfortunate, the attention of the world because of events taking place outside of its fictitious universe.
Regardless of these, there are certain numbers which leave no doubt that Lars von Trier´s films speak their own language; the record-high admissions worldwide. Over 100.000 movie-goers have flocked to see MELANCHOLIA in France and Russia, The Netherlands just announced great success with an opening week of over 25.000 admissions and during this fall TrustNordisk await highly anticipated releases in UK (Sept. 30th), Germany (Oct. 6th), Spain (Nov. 4th) and US and Canada (Nov. 11th).
