LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED - BIGGEST BIER OPENING EVER.

10-09-2012

Susanne Bier´s LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED sets records as it becomes the biggest opening Susanne Bier film ever in Denmark with 100.680 admissions in its opening weekend.
Bier´s last film, the Academy Award-winning IN A BETTER WORLD, opened in August 2010 to a then-career best 48.000 admissions.

World premiering at Venice Film Festival last week and now screening in the Special Presentations program in Toronto, LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED has received great reviews both domestically and abroad. The Times called it “immensely likeable” while Screen International described it as “A natural born winner”.

LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED screened in Toronto yesterday evening in the presence of Director Susanne Bier, Actor Pierce Brosnan, Actress Trine Dyrholm and script writer Anders Thomas Jensen. The film is currently one of three titles shortlisted for the run to become the Danish Oscar entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category. The Danish entry will be announced on September 18th.

LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED stars Pierce Brosnan and Trine Dyrholm and tells a life-affirming story about how, just when you think it´s all over, it just might be about to begin. Ida is a Danish hairdresser, recuperating from chemotherapy, who has just learned that her husband is leaving her for a woman half his age from the accounts department.
