Dillon will star alongside Bruno Ganz in Von Trier's 15th film.

Three years ago, Lars Von Trier released his five-hour drama “Nymphomaniac,” about a woman who recounts her erotic experiences to a man who saved her from a beating, to great critical acclaim. Now, he returns with a new film “The House That Jack Built,” which follows highly-intelligent serial killer Jack over a span of 12 years as we see the murders that define his development, and how he views his murders as artwork itself. Deadline reports that Von Trier has cast actor Matt Dillon as Jack alongside the previously announced Bruno Ganz.

“It´s with great pleasure that we have succeeded in being able to present Matt Dillon and Bruno Ganz as the lead actors in ‘The House That Jack Built,´ said Von Trier. “The two gentlemen have each figured as milestones in my cinematic development. Besides being an epochal match, they are excellent actors and fit quite organically into ‘my cinematic family.´ I look forward with pleasure and pride to working with them both.”

Dillon is best known for his many performances in the 80s and 90s, in films such as “The Outsiders,” “Drugstore Cowboy,” “Singles” and “There´s Something About Mary.” He garnered an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in “Crash.” He currently stars in the FOX drama “Wayward Pines.”

Shooting for “The House That Jack Built” will soon take place in Trollhättan, Sweden and Copenhagen, Denmark.
