UK distributor Momentum Pictures, an Alliance Films Company, has acquired the distribution rights for the upcoming Sci-Fi thriller FROST from TrustNordisk.

"We think FROST is going to give audiences a new and uniquely chilling experience and we are very happy to continue working with TrustNordisk to keep bringing great Scandinavian films to the UK", says Henry Beattie Acquisition Manager at Momentum Pictures.

TrustNordisk has also sold the film to Entertainment One (Canada) and to Russian distributor Big Movie.

“We have shown a 2-minute promo on FROST and the reactions have been great. It seems like the market is ready for a Sci-Fi thriller set on a glacier in Iceland. You cannot get a more exotic and yet scary setting than this and we have high expectations for this film internationally,” says Rikke Ennis, CEO at TrustNordisk.

FROST revolves around a young couple, physiologist Agla and filmmaker Gunnar, who arrive at a glacier drilling camp only to find it mysteriously abandoned. When searching for the lost team, they realize they´re up against an unknown but deadly force.

FROST is directed by Icelandic director Reynir Lyngdal and produced by Ingvar Thordarson and Julius Kemp for Kisi Production, co-produced by Markus Selin and Jukka Helle (Solar Films) and Karla Stojáková (Axman Production) with support from the Icelandic Film Centre. Kisi production owns and control worldwide remake rights and are represented by WME.

Domestic distribution is handled by SAMFilm with domestic release set for September 2012
