Gigantic opening for THE HUNT in Denmark

Thomas Vinterberg´s Cannes Competition title - the award-winning THE HUNT starring Mads Mikkelsen was domestically released on Thursday January 10th to rave reviews and sold out screenings throughout the country.


THE HUNT opened as number one on the box office charts selling 119.349 tickets in its 4-day opening weekend (133.576 including pre-screenings). This is the second best opening for a local film in Denmark in more than a decade.


Comparatively local Danish 2012 blockbusters A ROYAL AFFAIR and LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED opened with 91.578 and 101.126 respectively (both figures including pre-screenings).
