Even before the Swedish drama STOCKHOLM EAST is premiering internationally at the 68th Venice International Film Festival is Swedish drama, where it´s opening Critics Week, Filmfest Hamburg (Sept 29th - Oct 8th) has announced that the film has been officially selected into competition for two awards; the Hamburg Film Critic Award and the Foreign Press Award.
STOCKHOLM EAST is director Simon Kaijser da Silva´s feature film debut and stars the renowned Swedish actor Mikael Persbrandt, who we saw latest in Susanne Bier´s Academy Award-winner IN A BETTER WORLD (2010) and Danish actress Iben Hjejle, who received her break-through in the dogma-film MIFUNE´S LAST SONG (1999).
