Danish actress Danica Curcic and Norwegian actor Jakob Oftebro have been chosen as two out of ten European upcoming actors and actresses to present the 2014 line-up of Shooting Stars during Berlin International Film Festival next year.
The initiative, arranged by European Film Promotion (EFP), has existed since 1998 and promotes and awards upcoming and emerging European acting talents standing close to their international breakthrough - the stars of tomorrow.
Curcic graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2012. Starring in several plays at Danish theatres throughout 2012 and 2013, Curcic has also appeared in popular TV series such as THOSE WHO KILL (2011), WALLANDER (2013) and THE BRIDGE (2013). In 2014 Curcic can be seen in a number of highly anticipated feature films such as THE ABSENT ONE, the second installment in the hugely popular thriller series based on the international bestseller by Jussi Adler-Olsen, and Bille August´s upcoming film SILENT HEART.
Norwegian actor Oftebro graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2008. Oftebro has starred in the Norwegian war drama MAX MANUS (2009) and the drama KON-TIKI (2012), two of the biggest Norwegian box office hits in recent years. In 2014, Oftebro will appear in Ole Borneda´s upcoming large scale TV series 1864 and Hans Petter Moland´s upcoming IN ORDER OF DISAPPEARANCE.
In early 2014, Curcic and Oftebro can also be seen on the silver screen starring opposite each other in director Christian E. Christiansen´s upcoming action drama ON THE EDGE which revolves around two childhood friends whose friendship is put to the test when their illegal car racing results in a fatal accident.
