TrustNordisk has closed deals for Germany and Switzerland in Cannes for THE KEEPER OF LOST CAUSES, the first in a planned series of crime thrillers based on the DEPARTMENT Q series of best-selling books by author Jussi Adler-Olsen.

Screenwriter Nikolaj Arcel, who penned the script to the original Swedish version of THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, is adapting Adler-Olsen´s novel for the screen while Mikkel Norgaard (CLOWN - THE MOVIE) will direct.

The story of LOST CAUSES revolves around two policemen tracking a psychopathic killer across Scandinavia.

NFP, the German distributor of DRAGON TATTOO, picked up German rights to THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO and to the next three films in the Adler-Olsen franchise. Frentic Films took Swiss rights to all four films as well.

Louise Vesth, who credits include Lars von Trier´s MELANCHOLIA, will produce LOST CAUSES for Zentropa Entertainments20 in cooperation with Danish broadcaster TV2 and Germany´s ZDF/ZDF Enterprises.

Shooting is set to begin this October
