Berlin: 'The Lion Woman' Sells to Benelux, South America

Vibeke Idsoe's upcoming period drama is an adaptation of the best-seller by Norwegian writer Erik Fosnes Hansen.

 

TrustNordisk has closed a raft of pre-sales for The Lion Woman, an upcoming period drama from Danish director Vibeke Idsoe.

 

On the eve of Berlin's European Film Market, Trust closed on The Lion Woman with Benelux (September Film Rights), South America (California Filmes), Turkey (Sinema TV Yay) and Hong Kong (Edko).

 

Connie Nielsen stars in the film, an adaptation of the best-selling novel by Norwegian writer Erik Fosnes Hansen.

 

The story is set in the early 20th century and follows Eva, a girl born with hair covering her entire body. Treated as a freak of nature, she struggles to live an ordinary life and fall in love.
