Sales group TrustNordisk has closed multiple territory pre-sales for The Model, an upcoming drama from Danish director Mads Matthiesen, starring fashion model Maria Palm and British actor Ed Skrein (Transporter).
Palm stars in her film debut as a young, aspiring model who develops an unhealthy obsession with fashion photographer Shane White (Skrein). Trust closed deals with France (AB Groupe), Poland (Kino Swiat), Korea (Scene & Sound), Bulgaria (Pro Films) and Middle East (Gulf Film) for The Model on the strength of a three-minute promo screened for buyers at the European Film Market.
The Model is Matthiesen's sophomore effort after his debut, Teddy Bear, the story of a shy bodybuilder, which won the best director prize in Sundance in 2012.
Jonas Bagger is producing The Model for Denmark's Zentropa Entertainments10, with Louise Vesth and Marie Gade Denessen executive producing.
