A SECOND CHANCE will be screening in the Dare programme and THE SALVATION will be shown as a Thrill Gala.
With the selection for London Film Festival, Susanne Bier´s A SECOND CHANCE will continue its festival streak which takes off with the World Premiere at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival, beginning tomorrow September 4th. After Toronto A SECOND CHANCE will travel to San Sebastian to compete for the Golden Shell before screening in the Dare-Fiction programme at the London Film Festival.
A SECOND CHANCE is a shocking, moving and thrilling drama about real people forced into incredible circumstances. The film stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, 2005; OBLIVION, 2014; GAME OF THRONES, 2011-), Ulrich Thomsen (THE INTERNATIONAL, 2009; IN A BETTER WORLD, 2010; BANSHEE, 2013-), Maria Bonnevie (I AM DINA, 2002; BELLE DU SEIGNEUR, 2012; THE SHAMER´S DAUGHTER, 2015) and Nikolaj Lie Kaas (THE WHISTLEBLOWER, 2010; CHILD 44, 2014).
A SECOND CHANCE is directed by Susanne Bier, written by Anders Thomas Jensen, story by Anders Thomas Jensen and Susanne Bier and produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen for Zentropa Entertainments34 in co-production with Zentropa International Sweden, FilmFyn and Film i Väst. With support from The Danish Film Institute, The Swedish Film Institute, Eurimages and Nordisk Film & TV Fond in cooperation with DR, SVT. Nordic theatrical distribution in collaboration with Nordisk Film Distribution.
Also selected for the BFI London Film Festival is the western THE SALVATION.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kristian Levring (THE KING IS ALIVE, 2000), written by Academy Award-winner Anders Thomas Jensen (IN A BETTER WORLD, 2010 and LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED, 2012) together with Kristian Levring, THE SALVATION is a large scale western rooted in Scandinavia - a tale of revenge, blood feud, lost love and greed. Featuring an all-star cast led by Mads Mikkelsen and Eva Green with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Mikael Persbrandt, Eric Cantona and Jonathan Pryce among others, THE SALVATION tells the story of a Danish settler in 19th century North America, who sets out to avenge his family.
THE SALVATION celebrated its World Premiere at Cannes International Film Festival earlier this year. Screening as an Out of Competition Midnight Screening it received great reviews from the international press. In London, THE SALVATION will screen in the Gala-thrill programme.
THE SALVATION is produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen for Zentropa Entertainments33 ApS in co-production with Spier Films from South Africa and Forward Films from UK with the support of The Danish Film Institute, Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) and Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
