Lars Von Trier, Martin Scorcese collaborative project closes multiple pre-sales.

The Danish period epic A ROYAL AFFAIR, World War II drama COMRADE and the collaborative documentary project THE FIVE OBSTRUCTIONS: TRIER VS. SCORSESE piqued buyer interest in Cannes, with Trust Nordisk pre-selling the titles to multiple territories.

Nikolaj Arcel's A ROYAL AFFAIR stars Mads Mikkelsen and Alicia Vikander in the real-life story of a doomed love affair in the 18th century between the Queen of Denmark and her German physician. It was picked up by Metrodome for the U.K., MFA for Germany, Golem for Spain, Ascot Elite in Switzerland, Aero Film in the Czech Republic and Best Film in Poland.

A Royal Affair wrapped principle photography in Prague last week. Zentropa is producing and Lars Von Trier has an executive producer credit on the film.

Von Trier's planned documentary collaboration with Martin Scorcese: THE FIVE OBSTRUCTIONS, TRIER VS. SCORSESE, pre-sold to Kino Swiat (Poland), Independenta Film (Romania) and Aero Films (Czech. and Slovak Rep). The project is a a remake of Von Trier's 2003 documentary THE FIVE OBSTRUCTIONS, which deconstructs the film making process as the Danish director forces a colleague to remake a single film five times using different criteria.

Trust also racked up pre-sales on Petter Naess' COMRADE, starring Harry Potter alumnus Rupert Grint. Metrodome bought the World War II feature for the U.K., Vendetta took Australian rights and Kino Swiat nabbed Poland.
