Toronto International Film Festival chooses Arcel and Vinterberg

Toronto International Film Festival has chosen the current works of Arcel and Vinterberg to screen in their prestigious sections Gala and Special Presentation.
 
The historical drama A ROYAL AFFAIR will be shown at the red-carpet Gala and selected for Special Presentation is Thomas Vinterberg´s Cannes Competition title THE HUNT.

Highest grossing Danish language film in the history of Britain and Australia, one of the best sold historical dramas in Danish history ever and the recipient of two Silver Bear´s at this year´s Berlin International Film Festival - Nikolaj Arcel's A ROYAL AFFAIR has seduced both critics and audiences worldwide.  The film has been sold to over 78 countries and stars Mads Mikkelsen (THE HUNT, CASINO ROYALE) along with upcoming stars Alicia Vikander and Mikkel Boe Følsgaard.

 

Selected for Special Presentation is also Thomas Vinterberg´s Cannes Competition film THE HUNT starring Mads Mikkelsen as a man fighting against a lie that threatens to destroy his life. THE HUNT premiered at Cannes earlier this year to great reviews, a large number of closed sales and a number of awards as Mads Mikkelsen received the award for Best Actor for his performance in the film, cinematographer Charlotte Bruus Christensen received the Vulcain Prize of the Technical Artist for her work, and the film received the Ecumenical Jury Award.
