We are proud to present that TrustNordisk will be handling world sales of the new disaster film THE QUAKE, created by the successful team behind THE WAVE. The film will be directed by the talented DOP and director John Andreas Andersen and produced by the experienced Martin Sundland and Are Heidenstrøm. Scriptwriters Harald Rosenløw Eeg and John Kåre Raake are also back on board. And as with THE WAVE, THE QUAKE is inspired by real events.

THE WAVE was Norway´s first disaster film and the most seen film of 2015; more than 800.000 sold tickets with a population of 5 million. The film ended up as Norway´s Oscar candidate and travelled to several international festivals, including Toronto Film Festival, BFI London and Fantastic Fest. The film was sold worldwide and received both local and international success among audiences as well as critics. We expect nothing less of THE QUAKE.

THE QUAKE will be a large scale disaster movie as we know them from Hollywood, but added that special Scandinavian touch creating an emotionally captivating drama set in the midst of an epic disaster, thereby differentiating it from its pumped up, American relatives.

In 1904 an earthquake of magnitude 5.4 on the Richter scale shook Oslo - the capital of Norway.

The earthquake had its epicenter in the “Oslo Graben” which runs under the city.

There are still smaller earthquakes happening in this area today. Geologists cannot be sure, but there are signs that indicate that we can expect a major future earthquake in Oslo.

When it comes - nobody can say with certainty. Maybe in 100 years, maybe in 10 years, maybe tomorrow.

THE QUAKE is produced by Martin Sundland and Are Heidenstrøm for Fantefilm Fiksjon with support from The Norwegian Film Institute.

TrustNordisk will initiate pre-sales during Berlin International Film Festival.

Shooting start fall 2017, domestic release August 2018.
